In partnership with Ambler Primary School. Buy a book and get a stamp. When you get ten stamps we'll donate a book to a child from Ambler.

Accessibility information
There is a step to enter the shop and steps throughout the space.The bathroom is down a flight of stairs in the basement level. Outdoor seating is accessed at street level.
Laptop policy
We love being a space that inspires creativity. However, we are also a busy retail and social space. We therefore limit laptop use to our downstairs Book Cellar and ask that laptop users only use laptops on weekdays before 6pm. We do not allow laptop use anywhere over the weekend. We ask that customers refrain from taking video and phone calls at all times. Feel free to bring your own book, notebooks and pens any time.
BookBar Chelsea
We've got huge news! After four years of celebrating the social side of reading, BookBar is opening a new shop: BookBar Chelsea.
That's right, we're heading West! BookBar Chelsea will be our flagship event space, as well as serving as a bookshop and social space like our cosy Islington shop. Expect more of the things you love most: books, wine, coffee and a thriving community of avid and aspiring readers with whom to share it. With more space to hang out in, more books to discover, and an action-packed series of events, we're beyond excited to welcome you to our new space at 11 Chelsea Manor Street, SW3 2TW.
We're working hard to get the new shop ready for you, and are hoping to open later in the Spring. Watch this space, and, of course, follow us at Instagram and sign up for our mailing list at the bottom of the page below for regular updates.
